The Primacy of Programs, Services and Revenue Centers

In line with its primary objective of helping improve the quality of life of its members, the Cooperative shall undertake programs in this regard. Moreover, the Cooperative shall endeavor to undertake revenue generating projects in order to finance its programs and provide better quality services to members.

Project Contracts Administration

The Cooperative undertakes programs/projects that will provide job opportunities to members, dependents and even non-member indigents in the surrounding communities through operation of income generating projects and engaging in project or service contracts with establishments, such as the San Roque Power Corporation.

It offers services such as manpower services, ground building and facility maintenance, pest control, water system operation, sewage treatment, garbage collection, swimming pool maintenance, cable maintenance, demo farm maintenance, ecology park maintenance, consultancy services and subcontracts civil works projects such as horizontal and vertical construction, among others.

Manpower Services. The Operators Village Group consists of the following

a) Housekeeping and Janitorial. The Housekeeping and Janitorial group shall perform the following services:

·Oversee the cleanliness and orderliness of the billeting areas; and,
·Prepare beddings and attend to the needs of guests.

b) Ground Maintenance/Garbage Collection and Disposal. The group shall perform the following:

Ground care activities to include sweeping of debris and trashes within the building perimeter grounds; and,

Undertake a rationalized system of disposing and collecting garbage. Garbage segregation will be implemented in disposing solid waste, which will be designated on each facility’s garbage bins, namely: recyclable garbage, biodegradable garbage, and non-biodegradable garbage.

c) Facilities & Equipment Maintenance. The group will maintain the structural soundness of designated buildings such as the Corporate Social Responsibility Office, Operators Village and all other buildings or structures as directed by management and to engage in repair and refurbishing works if warranted.

d) NIA Gate Keepers: The gatekeepers are responsible for operating the irrigation weir in coordination with the Operations group of O&M regarding water releases.

Production and Marketing Assistance

The Cooperative shall buy in bulk agricultural supplies such as certified rice seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, insecticides and other commodities. It passes these on to farmers at reasonable prices. Most farmers’ avail these farm inputs through a loan scheme whereby the members pay fully after harvest at minimal interest.

Feeds and Fertilizers Group (Agricultural Supplies Trading). It manages the operation of trading of animal feeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other agricultural supplies.

Palay, Rice Trading and Post-harvest Operations Group. It manages the operation of palay and rice trading and operates all post harvest facilities such as rice mill.

Organic Fertilizer Plant. In support of the government’s sustainable agriculture program through organic farming, the Narra Coop established an organic fertilizer plant. The Organic Fertilizer performs the following:

a) Production and marketing of organic fertilizer;
b) Establishment of demonstration farms to showcase the benefit of organic farming; and,
c) In collaboration with the Education, Training and Membership Committee, conducts various information drives and seminars to educate the farmers in various municipalities in Pangasinan on organic farming technology and of the importance of using organic fertilizer for a clean, safe and healthy environment. 

Plant Nursery and Seedling Bank. In line and in support to the government’s green Philippines and food sufficiency programs, the Narra Coop established a Plant Nursery and Seedling Bank which is envisioned to effectively contribute to the government’s thrust to accelerate the rehabilitation of the country’s environment and natural resources. The Plant Nursery and Seedling Bank propagate various fruit-bearing and forest trees, as well as high quality vegetable seedlings and ornamental plants.

Credit and Collection

The loan facility serves the members at an interest rate of 10% per annum. The facility is also extended to non-members who are working within the SRMP area at an interest rate of 12% per annum. The interest rate and other terms and conditions may be subject to change as maybe approved by the Board of Directors.

Microfinance Group. It manages all micro financing programs of the Cooperative.

Microenterprise Development

The Cooperative assists community folks in establishing small entrepreneurial undertakings to provide income for their families. The cooperative provides loan assistance as well as training, coaching and nurturing services to ascertain the success of the small businesses.

Health Insurance of Coop Members

The Cooperative enrolls all its members to the Philippine Health Insurance Company at no cost to members. This provides medical security to the members and their dependents.

Scholarship Program

The Cooperative strongly believe that providing scholarships to deserving youths, especially those coming from the poorest of the poor families, will play a key role in transforming their communities towards self-reliance and sustainability.
